NEAR Wallets for Trading on BTSE DEX
The BTSE DEX gives DeFi investors a seamless and efficient trading experience on NEAR Protocol, with minimal slippage guaranteed by deep liquidity and tight spreads. Paired with BTSE’s existing centralized digital asset exchange, all users’ trading needs will be satisfied, creating new opportunities to build wealth.
To take advantage of the benefits of the BTSE DEX, traders will need to utilize wallets that can hold assets on NEAR Protocol. In this article, we will introduce five compatible wallets that are secure, convenient, and easy to use. Setting up any one of these wallets is the first step to using BTSE DEX.
Here Wallet
Wallets built on NEAR Protocol all share the goal of making the user experience as simple and accessible as possible. Here Wallet takes a step further to give users a way to put their assets on NEAR to work by offering staking, liquid staking, and lending services. And to tap into the liquidity on other networks, Here Wallet makes it easy to buy NEAR tokens using BTC, ETH, SOL, and other major cryptocurrencies.
One feature that makes Here Wallet unique is that users can transfer tokens to individuals who do not have an existing NEAR-based wallet. The sender can enter the recipient’s phone number as the destination, then the recipient will receive an SMS or WhatsApp message indicating what they need to do to claim the tokens. Here Wallet also has a system for users to earn points for using different features and participating in contests. These points can be used to unlock special benefits such as access to private features or cashback.
Meteor Wallet
Meteor Wallet stands out by offering a swap aggregator on top of the usual features that a wallet offers. Additionally, it offers ongoing challenges that encourage users to explore and learn about the NEAR ecosystem, while earning rewards from shared prize pools.
The team behind Meteor Wallet originally launched an NFT collection called Near Tinker Union, moving into building a no-code NFT launchpad on the NEAR network. From there, they were inspired to create a wallet that was user-friendly and matched NEAR’s goal to offer a smooth, mainstream UX to users so that it is easy for anyone around the world to enter the world of crypto without demanding deep familiarity with Web3 tools and processes.
MyNearWallet
Like the other wallets featured in this article, MyNearWallet is a secure, non-custodial wallet built for users who have assets on NEAR Protocol. Additionally, it supports NFT collection management and lets users stake NEAR to earn rewards, which is an effective way to earn passive returns while helping to maintain the NEAR network’s integrity.
Simple to use and with strong security features, MyNearWallet is a strong contender for any user who has assets on NEAR Protocol. Its security can be enhanced by two-factor authentication (2FA) or integration with a Ledger hardware wallet. Enabling 2FA means transactions through the wallet are only possible when they are confirmed from a separate device, meaning it would be extremely difficult for bad actors to steal your funds.
Nightly
Nightly was the first wallet on the NEAR blockchain that incorporated functionality beyond transaction support. This includes token swaps, QR code transaction processing, and NFT collection display. It was built with a multi-chain crypto environment in mind — Nightly operates on more than NEAR Protocol. It also works on Solana, Aptos, and Sui, while its developers have said that they intend to expand to as many networks as possible.
The Nightly wallet is part of a larger ecosystem, with a Nightly Launchpad and Marketplace for NFTs currently under development, and Nightly Connect as a user-friendly and secure way for wallets and decentralized apps to communicate with each other by scanning a QR code and approving the connection.
NEAR Wallet
The NEAR Wallet is a web-based, non-custodial wallet. In the past, it was often the first recommended wallet for most users — after all, it was developed as the official wallet of NEAR Protocol.
It previously had email/SMS as a recovery method, but this option was removed as it was deemed a security risk. Because of this transition, users were encouraged to migrate to a new wallet. In fact, developers will end support for NEAR Wallet soon and encourage all users to transfer their accounts to a different wallet, such as those above, or export their private keys.
Between now and October 31, 2023, the NEAR Wallet will remain a browser wallet. However, for users who are unable to migrate to a new wallet before that date, the NEAR Wallet’s Transfer Wizard will still be available even though wallet functionality will be retired. Users’ assets will remain secure.
